Can't move on from physically/verbally abusive ex

Just as it says. Can't move on. Don't know what to do. Apart not whenever I see him I feel sick. I want him but I don't want the abuse. And I know he can't be trusted. Please talk some sense into me. I'm an almost 40 year old semi professional single mother at the end of my tether. Thanks for reading

I will definitely look into that. The domestic abuse unit were alright but as soon as the court case was over they didn't want to know.

I also have this strange sense of dread If or when I see him with another woman. I know I will feel jealous when I know logically I should pity her and what she will endure.
