To wonder how to get a urine sample from a 2 yr old boy - help!

Not really an AIBU just really need some help! Need to get a urine sample using a standard sample bottle from my not potty trained nearly 3 yr old. I’ve done loads of samples when he was younger but none for ages and no idea how to get him to sit still until he wees so I can catch it !! He doesn’t yet know when a wee is coming so I can’t ask him to warn me. Any ideas or tips?!

When catching a mid air sample from my male dog the vet gave me a plastic thing that fitted into the neck of the tube - it was like a cricket box and was reasonably effective until the bugger lowered his leg and kicked it out of my hand and down my front and I imagine would work quite well for a small human too.

I just had to chase mine around naked with a pot until he weed. It wasn't easy! Good luck.

Did you mean you were naked or DS?

I sat my 15 month old naked in a washing basket (no holes) she weed I scooped her out onto a towel and poured the wee into a pot outside in case of spillage. She just sat in it watching tv quite happy, thought it was funny actually. Give it a go!

I just wanted to come back to this thread and mention that i had to do it today so i sat 7m old naked on my lap in front of tv. I got absolutely diarhoea'd on. Went right through my jeans. Got my sample though
