Does anyone know what this could be on DP's legs? Started on his foot and seems to be spreading up his leg. Been a few days now! Really itchy.

TIA

Looks like psoriasis to me too and psoriasis definitely itches when it's dry like this.

nonevernotever · 30/07/2018 19:44

Another thing it could be is a fungal infection -there are so many skin things that look similar that they really need to see a gp for specific advice

picklemepopcorn · 30/07/2018 19:49

Right, @Brigante9 , I'm off to sporners corner. DS and I both get pomphlox, and mine seems to have spread up my arms and legs in the heat.

longwayoff · 30/07/2018 19:50

Not scabies

BlondeVolvo · 30/07/2018 20:07

Gosh it could be anything, looks like psoriasis for sure but it but be very unfortunate for it to have just appeared so suddenly. I’m not sure psoriasis is itchy tho??

Where on his feet did it start? Athletes will be rife in this weather and it can spread to other areas of the body. Also could be ringworm - this is very itchy. Or just eczema I sometimes get the one which starts as little spots but never looks as dry because I moisturise.

GPs for a skin scrape I think. Lots of GPs have a dermatology lead so ask if you have one and get an app with them if you can.

Tweakanddashi · 30/07/2018 21:27

Yeah that's not scabies

SandyY2K · 30/07/2018 21:29

Is there a reason he hasn't gone to the GP?

Bambamber · 30/07/2018 21:31

Ask a pharmacist to have a look. Much better than a load of random people making guesses over the internet

cheesemongery · 30/07/2018 21:33

Looks like psoriasis to me, I suffered in my teens and my adult son has been suffering terribly since his late teens. I've had random patches appear in the last few months, mainly on my legs but one on my face. I've been under an immense amount of stress following a bereavement. Is there anything particularly stressful going on? Guttae psoriasis can also oddly be linked to tonsilitis, which both my son and I suffer from too often.

HistoriaTrixie · 30/07/2018 21:35

Lichen planus maybe?

Tisfortired · 30/07/2018 21:38

Sorry for the feet picture, but I have had similar for a few weeks now - VERY itchy. Started with one big patch on my left foot which is now two big patches, and a couple of smaller ones on my right foot and big toe. I'm assuming psoriasis because my mum, aunties and grandma have it. Looks similar to your DP's.

Hi nurse here, it could be a few different things looks like bites but hard to tell without seeing them in person. Pop to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to look at them

Timeisslippingaway · 30/07/2018 21:41

Ringworm, scabies maybe psoriasis. When did it appear? How fast did it spread?

Bobbybear10 · 30/07/2018 22:17

Without looking in real life, I would say it’s definitely NOT ringworm! Doesn’t look anything like any ringworm I’ve ever seen on animal or human.

nokidshere · 30/07/2018 22:34

It looks like psoriasis and yes, psoriasis is very itchy indeed - I've had it on most of my body for 57years!

However, it could be those little water blister things that are incredibly itchy and once they burst they stay itchy but the skin dries out too.

WhiteDust · 30/07/2018 22:50
