Arghhh. Trying to find a new cheap washing machine that does this. Not found one yet. Sad

Ratonastick - we have that machine. You can turn the music off. So pleased when I figured that out.

Mine does a 14m wash and you can set the speed of the spin. It's the candy alise I think.

Moononthehill83. YES! Mine is shit too.

I bought it to replace the fabulous one I had for 14 years. Nothing like it. We must have the same model as mine is equally rubbish.. In addition the 1200 spin doesn't seem to actually get the water out. My last one got them touch damp, this one is still wet.
Not particularly cheap either.
I don't even want this one to last 14 years.

Rarfy · 30/07/2018 20:56

Ours is a beko i think and does a 30min quick wash and has a 1000 spin maybe more. Think it was about 230 from argos.

My Miele is fab.

It has a 20-minute quick wash cycle, but you can also choose a short version of the standard cycles.

Top spin speed is 1400.

And clothes always come out clean.

I have the new Samsung Ecobubble which is marketed at being a Quick wash - it does some clever counter rotation thing with the back of the drum. The quick cycle is 15 mins but I wouldn’t use it for much more than rinsing things out, however the standard cycle is 37 minutes and is absolutely fine for everyday clothes. Ground in toddler dirt gets an extra bubble soak, which takes it to just over an hour and the cottons cycle is 54 minutes. The one I inherited with the house was a John Lewis own brand and took nearly 4 hours for a cottons load!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 30/07/2018 21:02

Samsung ecobubble with a 15m wash. Only spins at 800 though. I tend to follow up with a 15m spin at 1400.

Our beko freezer and dishwasher are shit, I’d never buy anything else from them.

FlyingElbows · 30/07/2018 21:09

The Samsung ecobubble is great but mine only lasted just over 2 years. For the price of it that's not good enough. Its brain died and it was the equivalent cost of a new machine to replace it! Shock However, we do a huge amount of washing of both normal clothes and mud heavy sports stuff. If I could give only one piece of advice in my life it would be to buy the biggest capacity washing machine you can and save up for it if you need to because they're soooooo worth it for families. I'm currently on a LG but its shortest cycle is 30 mins. I can change all the cycle settings though so if I want 1400 I've got it.

My 7 year old Siemens has an "outdoor wear" setting which is 19 min.

It also has a 12 min rinse setting.

I've only used these settings twice in 7 years though.

sproutsandparsnips · 30/07/2018 21:18

I too have a 1400 spin 9kg beko. 28 min fast wash 14 min for a small load, though I usually use the 2h54 eco cycle. Had it about a year, all good so far and was very reasonably priced.

itsawhopper · 30/07/2018 21:34

Mine does a 14 minute wash and then a 7 minute spin at 1600

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 30/07/2018 21:54

Samsung has a fifteen minute wash that I use sometimes for things that have been worn once for a short time.

IdaDown · 30/07/2018 22:09

Also echo Miele - mine has 1600.

If you can’t stretch, get a spin dryer alongside a cheaper machine.

The clothes will come out almost dry. Just use a laundry bag for woollens so they don’t stretch. Less time in tumble or quick dry over an airer with no damp/mould issues in house.
