Yep! Scarlett Moffatt on LI

OP posts:

So she can never gain weight after she's made a fitness dvd because it's conning those that bought hers? Errr.......

Everyone that buys the DVD is aware that she is not a fitness and lifestyle guru. She is a minor celeb making a bit of extra cash. She can do what she wants with her body, she is not beholden to anyone.

The opening post (headline) should create interest and debate.

Well, @BlueAnchor, your opening post or 'headline' as you put it, did neither of those things.

Or, can you explain how Yep! Scarlett Moffatt on LI does that precisely?

I’d rather be “fat” and kind/well liked than a nasty bitchy person that starts hurtful threads!

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 30/07/2018 08:30

The way I read it, she's picking on a DVD, not a sleb

Are there any other newly- released sleb workout DVDs? If so, who and do the people have any fitness/training qualifications? (They do seem to be a bit like buses with several coming along at once).

I’m with you OP. Making £££ off a load of horseshit. Targeting her young fan base to buy her dvd so they can lose weight just like she did, and she makes loads of money from it. Except it was all crap, and she knew it, and now it’s all gone back on anyway. Unscrupulous bullshit. She’s not the first to do it, and won’t be the last, but it does make me cross that people will buy it and believe it works and she happily promotes what she knows is utter bollocks.

It isn't obligatory. i've never heard of her.
Well that's great to know.

KevinTheYuccaPlant · 31/07/2018 08:29

I get what you're saying, OP, though it probably could have been phrased slightly better.

She was facing demands from the DVD production company to pay back her £100,000 fee because she hadn't maintained the weight loss for a year as written into her contract, but I don't know whether she was made to or not.

At the end of the day nobody would be having a similar conversation to this if Davina McCall gained weight. Scarlett has been publicly posting yesterday about how much the comments about her appearance are affecting her mental health, so I don't think anyone here needs to add fuel to that fire. She's human, she's still young, she made a mistake with the boot camp. But she's not obligated to be a walking billboard for the way other people think a woman should look for the rest of her life.
