To think "adults only evening" sounds so wrong?!

I'm sorry but I'm about to mention the c word........... Christmas. [santa]

So I'm organising an evening or two in a restaurant which is usually family friendly 24/7 as a Christmas special event - think candlelight, wine deals, set menu and live music. I want part of its draw to be that it's for only adults - how do I phrase this in the name of the evening? Can't call it an "adults only evening" as I've a feeling people are going to get the wrong impression!!

Something witty, festive and classy that suggests it's only for adults would be ideal, please help!!!

Child free Christmas cracker.....

SchrodingersBox · 29/07/2018 19:02

Do you think calling it an adult only evening will make people think it's for swingers? I'd read it as child free. I'm sure you'll have a good evening either way.

Grown ups only?

sirmione16 · 29/07/2018 19:14

@SchrodingersBox yeah I think it sounds like a swingers party or like there's gonna be Ann summers reps or something idk ConfusedGrin that's my first thoughts...

Charge £75 a head and nobody will bring their kids!

RandomMess · 29/07/2018 19:15

"Child free zone dinner dance"?

sirmione16 · 29/07/2018 19:16

Child free sounds better

@Shoppingwithmother Grin lol!

Realistically I'm thinking approx £28 for a glass of bubbly or beer (soft drink alternative) with 4 courses and of course there's live music throughout

I just think people will still turn up with kids if it's not clear 🙈

Nothing wrong with saying, "Adults only" if it's in a restaurant or you could say, "A night out for the grown ups". Sounds lovely, can I come?

NapQueen · 29/07/2018 19:25

Festive Dinner Dance then in small print underneath, 18+.

Shoppingwithmother · 29/07/2018 19:30

Yes, I agree with Nap - just give the event a name, then underneath say over 18s/ adults only - don’t make it part of the title.

Just call it a grown-up get together, or something like that?
