To call 111 back

Woke up this morning with a severe pain in my left groin which went round my hip. Took my breath away, felt like the worst period cramp I'd ever experienced, I'd give it a 9/10. Rolled around a bit, did some deep breathing, An hour later I took some co codamol and it got a bit better. It then started up again and gradually just got worse and worse. The pain was always there but the actual severe agony would come in waves. Rang 111, they said to go to the doctors tomorrow as they didn't have anyone available today to talk to, was relieved they didn't think it was serious.

111 said to phone back if it gets worse and they'll escalate it.

Fast forward 4 hours, the agony is now pretty constant. Pain killers aren't touching the sides. Can barely walk and it's spread to the top of my thigh and round to my back. My only thought is that this is a kidney stone, other wise I have literally no clue. No temp, still eating and drinking fine, just a whole world of crampy, twisting, gnawing pain. Pain makes me quite panicky so I'm worried I'm over reacting in thinking this may be something serious.

Should I phone them or suck it up till tomorrow?

Hate the thought of wasting a doctors time on a Sunday.

hope everything goes well tomorrow 💐

I had a period and an internal by two doctors and even an ultrasound scan- all said I wasn't pregnant but a blood test determined I was and it was an ectopic pregnancy. It was a very low one sided pain and bleeding. You're in the right place in hospital OP. Good luck and hope you feel better soon

Hello everyone,

So I am now 6 weeks pregnant and the pain was around the time of implantation. It stopped the next day and I had a bit of spotting a week later. It's bizarre and I have no clue how implantation could be that painful!

Congratulations!! Flowers

I have been pregnant 4 times and implantation each time felt like somebody was stabbing me with a poker. I am pretty sensitive though. Had a coil removed because it aggravated my uterine lining and I was aware of it constantly.

Congratulations!

ShowOfHands · 22/08/2018 14:33

That said, the side I ovulated from each time remained sensitive for the first weeks of pregnancy and I suspect it was the corpus luteum causing it.

RosiePosies · 23/08/2018 08:47

Thank you 😊

@ShowOfHands ok I'm glad it's not just me! I'm also very sensitive and feel every little thing. Labour's going to be fun 😩

N’aww!! That’s lovely, congrats OP.

Wow congratulations!

Congratulations op, GrinFlowers

I don't understand how the pain could be at implantation if you are six weeks pregnant and your op about being in pain was just over 3 weeks ago...wouldn't that have meant you would have been around 2 and a half- 3 weeks pregnant when you had the pains ?

RosiePosies · 25/08/2018 15:29

Thanks for the congrats ☺️

Anxious2niteaaah you're not actually 'pregnant' for the first 2 weeks of pregnancy, implantation could have even been later! If I think about it too much it blows my mind a bit though as maths isn't my strong point (blaming it on baby brain) so will talk to my midwife about it when I see her. I guess it could also have been a cyst on my ovary and it's just coincidence. 🤷🏻‍♀️
