Not an AIBU but I need your suggestions people of MN!

I don’t have a gift for my DC to take and have no time to go to the shops. Locally we have a convenience type store.

Any suggestions other than money?!

Big packet of haribo and a fiver in a card.

KC225 · 29/07/2018 11:38

If you have no card. Make one and get your child to decorate it.

Selection of sweets and chocolate in a gift bag (or wrapped up if no bag), maybe a comic with colouring pencils.
Make a card

Print out an Amazon gift voucher, put in homemade card

Timeisslippingaway · 29/07/2018 11:42

Why can't it be money?

scuttlemama · 29/07/2018 11:42

@KC225 thank you!! I’ve got some cards in that I have as spares. DC has just reached that birthday party invite phase, I need to get some small gifts in for the cupboard too!

You’re all way more inventive than me it seems or my baby brain is in full swing (probably both!)!! Thank you. A trip to the shop en route for some sweets and a gift bag.

I just thought money on it’s own may look like I’ve totally not thought about it.

Money on its own is what most kids would prefer!! A packet of sweets is an added bonus!

KC225 · 29/07/2018 16:23

What did you do OP?

scuttlemama · 29/07/2018 19:17

@KC255 we opted for cash in a card that we already had! We were running late and didn’t really have time to stop off at the shop. Lots of presents there for the birthday boy to open and play with though!
