Can’t get a taxi in Barcelona

Can anyone else not get a taxi in Barcelona? I’m currently on track to miss my flight for a second time! Not sure if they will change the times for free for me again...I just want to cry, I’ve been here since Friday.

I just wanted to know if anyone else was in Barcelona during the strike.

In OP's defense, I find public transport in Barcelona dreadful and not easy to work out. It's illogical at best and really far from being 'great'. And I travelled a lot so I am able to find my way around an unfamiliar city.
That being said I would have arranged for someone to take me to the airport after the first failed attempt.

@LadyOdd I hope you get home safe tonight!

Reus is a pretty small airport but we’ve flown to and from there several times and haven’t really had any problems. There is definitely many flights that go from there, it is not tiny and definitely worth thinking about if you continue having problems with taxis in Barcelona.

Hope you manage to get home soon.

Hello Ladyodd - sorry to ear you're having bother. I've always found BCN public transport really well organised. Perhaps if you were having to use night services it was worse on the way there. Hopefully a better experience travelling during the day.

Have you got the citymapper app? Ive found it really helpful in London and the Barcelona version also seems to get good reviews.

I made it to the other side lol to find the new undisclosed place in Spain I’ve flown too has also joined the strike today! However rather than being left out at 10 at night with my family waiting for two buses a lovely cab driver drove us for free! Very nice guy the other drivers shouted abuse at him so cruel.

oh I've only just seen this but glad you are okay

I'm a lifelong Londoner but navigating a new system on Saturday with a baby would certainly worry me! Wishing you a safe journey home Flowers

@LighthouseSouth thank you it was slightly scary my phone had died and I only had my work iPad with no internet connection but the people of Barcelona were lovely after leaving my original destination at 3pm and arriving at my mums friends house at 1am I was pretty exhausted x

Rested up kind of besides waking up at 4am and failing to get yet another flight, the one I took tonight which was actually very smooth sailing as they have put extra buses on so no longer crammed tight like sardines. There was no way I was taking my baby out at 3am on 4 buses to the airport on the arse end of Saturday!

If anyone is in Barcelona take the A1 or A2 bus it’s past the two large columns near the train station (right?) it’s 5.95 but it’s airconditioned and very quick. Barcelona bounces back quickly.
