Neighbours bloody dog

NDN is an aggressive arsehole with no common decency for anything or anyone. They got a dog a couple of months ago and they let it out every night at 9pm and leave it in the garden until midnight. That 3 hours it barks - constantly. It's very loud and very irritating. They leave it home a lot too and it just barks and barks and barks.

I'm at my wits ends with it. Every fucking night.

Several neighbour have tried talking to him about it and he doesn't give a fuck. Neighbours have also spoken to the council / environmental health who don't seem to give a hoot.

Would a dog whistle be of any use to me? Is there a way of training it from afar not to bark ? They are directly next to me and it sits at our fence barking 90% of the time it's outside which is right under my window.

Get a large super soaker / water gun and use it- every single time the dog barks . Aim carefully over the fence (at neighbour, not dog). Hopefully they will get the message.

Awww I'm a huge dog fan and I've never locked my dog out. Id pester the hell out of council until they give up. Maybe throw a ball/ bone over to keep him quiet? Obviously you shouldn't be putting your hand in your pocket for a pet that isnt yours but his owners clearly don't mind him barking. Poor pooch x

I don't want to do anything physical over the fence as they've been aggressive before toward a number of neighbours which is why I thought maybe a dog whistle but I don't even know what they do Grin

Probably make him bark more lol. I no they leave him out for long periods and in the house for long periods. Does he look well. Do they clearly feed him. Ring rspca for guidance x

He looks really well actually like a small Labrador but with long curly fur and larger floppies ears? I have no idea what it is. Full of energy but it's a puppy so it obviously needs more attention and exercise and it's frustrated being stuck outside or in the house alone or ignored.

You need to contact the council again, specifically the dog warden. They will listen to your issue and give you a diary to fill in regarding the noise. Mine also wrote to my neighbours to make them aware and they visited them to try to help with solutions. I found them really good mediators and took the angst out of the situation. My neighbours were not horrible though!

This is how we ended up with our first dog. Neighbours used to leave him in the garden for hours. The dog dug his way under the fence and straight onto our sofa. He stayed for 14 years.
Obviously not a good idea for you Op with idiot neighbours. Suited all of us at the time though. Their dog sounds lovely they don't deserve him.

If your neighbours dog is a nuisance it is the fault of your neighbours. Don't blame the dog. Your neighbours need to train it. That's it. I feel sorry for the poor dog tbh. He doesn't seem to be having a great life Sad
