Not to phone 101 for failed glass test

I'm posting for traffic sorry but need advice. My 3 year old has failed the glass test, she has a blotchy red rash everywhere, even on her face which has come up this morning. The last few days she has had a high temp, highest was 39.4 but since yesterday afternoon no temp and no calpol. She has autism so can't tell me how she feels, she just keeps saying 'dr brownbear'. I can ring 101 but stuck at home without transport for another hour, I have a 2 year old as well. What shall I do?

No idea why people come on mumsnet for advice before calling for medical advice in these situations. (Where it could be extremely serious) Hope she is okay op.

This should never be a factor when considering what to do.

These are the things to consider ^

I hope your DD is ok. I am somewhat baffled at the reluctance to call for help though.

Hi OP is everything okay?

Mamabear4180 · 05/08/2018 21:43

I'm really sorry I didn't get back to you all about this. I'm not on mumsnet very often and was very busy with the girls that day.

She was absolutely fine! It was a mix of viral rash and general anxiety rash which she seems to get a lot due to her autism.

To answer everyone's question on why I would hesitate before calling it's because she seemed ok in herself, was watching TV and hadn't had a temp for 24 hours at that point. Everything I read about meningitis was the rash was late stage and she would be extremely poorly by then which she wasn't! and yes her 2 year old sister, no transport and her autism were all considerations but only because I didn't think it could be meningitis! If I had for a minute thought that I wouldn't be messing about!

I don't mind looking like a tit on mumsnet, I was looking for advice and you all helped me realise I wasn't over reacting so thanks :) How I may come across on social media was second on my mind that day!
