To want people to leave my cat alone

Due to mental health issues I am generally a tad paranoid, and can’t decide if IABU and over-paranoid or if people really are CF with my cat Blush

I have a beautiful huge ginger tom that’s very gorgeous and very friendly, will go up to anyone for a tickle. I love when people get joy from stroking him and don’t really want to keep him as a house cat but I’m recently terrified he’s going to “go missing”.

Today is the 3rd time in a couple of weeks I’ve had to pop my head out the window and ask people to put him down because they’ve picked him up and started walking off Hmm

Is that a “normal” thing to do? I wouldn’t say anything to those stroking him, some girls even sat on my drive for 15mins and I said nothing until they physically picked him up and started leaving

Am I being a crazy cat lady Grin I genuinely am hurt at the thought of him being shut in someone else’s house because they’ve fallen for his charms and “Puss In Boots” eyes Sad

NBU op, funnily enough we heard voices outside on the road the other night and a nice looking couple had stopped to pet our lovely ginger boy. I was really twitchy and hid behind the curtains watching while dh was “wtf? You’re mad” Grin. I was worried they were going to take him; he’s so friendly and gorgeous! Of course they didn’t, but I was surprised by my own ‘paranoia’ Smile

Our local gorgeous ginger cat used to jump on ds's knee in the buggy!!. Had to lift it out so we could get going (wasn't a chore as it is blooming amazing!!))

The sign’s a good idea Grin I might put one up that says “watch out, he bites” or “the cat is not hungry or homeless, just a flirt!”

I wish he did make a fuss but the soft thing will let anyone pick him up and snuggle like a teddy bear!

No look-a-likes yet but I’ll keep an eye out, definitely looking into getting an outdoor run
