AIBU to ask if anyone applied & received a child’s passport recently?

If yes, what was the timeframe?

Submitted our application about a month ago as not in a particular rush. However i’ve unexpectedly come into some money & quite fancy a holiday sooner. Typical!

Mine were so quick, one took a week. The other needed new photos so sent those off and got it back a few days later! I was so happy as I’d left it till the last 3 weeks before I went. It’s only supposed to take 3 weeks for a child’s passport so you should chase them up

I applied for kids 2 renewals online at the end of May. Got new photos which were countersigned 4.6.18 and sent off docs shortly after. Recieved a text on 22.6.18 saying passport was on its way and received a few days later. Both came around the same sort of time but only appear to have texts about one passport.

Also applied for adult renewals at the end of June which took about 15 days.

Within a week. I got texts confirming they were received the forms....then again few days later a text to say they were on thier way was quick.amd easy

Did it online, then sent the old one and photos. Took about 2-3 weeks. Seemed really quick.

Anyone renewed a passport where the child was a baby on the original? Did you get it countersigned?

Hopefully I think you would need to have it countersigned as the child will now look nothing like they did as a baby.

Our recent turnaround was well within 2 weeks - around 9-10 days I think.

This was a child renewal.

Change from child to adult passport - 2 weeks

I got my first child passport back within 9 days last time. Never paid for fast service and that was with the passport office having to phone to check my counter signatory and putting wrong town in for place of birth. Think a month seems quite long and I'd check up.

Got ours back yesterday took about 10 days, didn’t do check & send or fast turnaround

hopefully I’ve just renewed DS passport and had it countersigned as he was a baby on the first one.

Right there was a delay but should have it early next week. Thanks all.
