AIBU to ask for tips on getting DD2 ready for preschool

I know I’m not really BU, but am posting for traffic.
DD2 has just turned 3 and starts preschool in September. Unlike her sister she’s never been to nursery, or even a crèche, so I’m worried she’s not going to be as ready to go as some of her classmates.
She’s very confident, a good talker and potty trained, it’s more the learning side of things I’m worried about than separation anxiety or anything like that. At this age before starting preschool, her sister could write her name, more or less knew the alphabet, could count to 10 and knew what it meant etc. Her big sister went to nursery from a baby, which is where she learnt how to write her name etc, with reinforcement at home. Even with already having those skills she was by no means the most advanced when she started preschool, I’d say around average for the class.
Does anyone have any ideas of activities I could try during the summer with DD2 to help her have a good start in preschool? We read together, I’ve tried writing her name in dots to get her to trace over (with help), but she doesn’t even try and throws the pencil across the room! She can count to 10, but doesn’t know all of her colours or any of the alphabet etc.she seems very resistant to anything I try!
Any suggestions would be very welcome, thank you!

I wouldn't worry! Many kids start reception at that level.

It's helpful if she can recognise her name when it's written down eg for a coat peg, but she doesn't need to be able to write it.

Make sure she knows things like washing hands after going to the loo, and putting on shoes and coats.

Pre-school is about playing and learning social skills.

I would relax and go with what she wants to do.

My dd is 3 and we:

Go on letter spotting walks
Do letter fishing (foam letters out of wilko and a net with a bowl of water)
Count everything!

But mostly we

Go on adventures in the woods
Play in the mud kitchen
Pour stuff - water, lentils, rice
Paint
Play doh
Jump over drains
Splash in puddles
Bike ride
Play orchard games
Role play games
Mud slides
Make potions in the garden
Climb trees

Just draw with her and count steps as you go up and down them...and read to her. That's enough.x
