To ask that they don't open cupboards/drawers?!?!

I'm moving out if my rented property on 4 weeks.

My landlord has asked if he could hold viewings on day in a week. Initially I said yes, he has been a fantastic landlord. Truly amazing and I'm so appreciative he rented his flat to me with two dogs and two hamsters and a rabbit.

But now I'm a bit Hmm. I don't mind making the place clean and tidy at all but.... all my stuff is here. Clothes in the wardrobe... washing shoved in the bottom of the wardrobe because the basket is full... pants in drawers other things in the special drawer... even feel a bit weird about peiple seeing food in the fridge/cupboards. Plus sanpro etc in bathroom cupboard etc

It would be weird to say... they can view but don't open any doors or drawers except the ones between rooms wouldn't it?! Eek.

I wouldn't look inside stuff like that for a rental and I think it's reasonable to ask them not to. (If people are buying they tend to be more thorough).

Hmm, I've always been shown inside cupboards etc as I do feel it's important to know how much storage you're getting with rented properties. Are any of the wardrobes/cupboards built in? I think it's hard because you never know if a wardrobe is a rail or full of built in shelving when you look from the outside (something that filled me with rage when trying to buy mine). Same with build in wardrobes, could have a chimny breast hiding behind the door so it looks bigger than it is.
Bathroom cabinet however...well that's pretty big standard. Kitchen cupboards, again if a dishwasher is disguised behind a cabinet door, they may think they have more space than they actually do.

Are they built in cupboards or your own furniture?
If it's not built in I'd just announced that/ask the estate agent/landlord to announce it as people enter. There's no reason to look in non-builtin furniture.

I rented a house once where I had to use storage boxes in the kitchen cupboards due to damp and a slug problem.

I didn’t really have a choice as I would’ve been homeless if I’d not taken it, but I’d have preferred to know before moving in!

Everyone has clothes and knickers and private things in the bathroom cabinet. Hide anything really embarrassing in a box on top of the wardrobe, put all your dirty washing in a suitcase (or you know, wash it!) and just happen to always be out when viewers come round!

And your worried about people seeing your food??? That's just taking it a bit far!
