Just a random one..

My dp won't bath the baby alone.. He worrys she will drown or something..or that hell do it wrong? I have no issue in this.
But if she's bathed late then he always helps or comes and sits with me.
He also worrys and freaks If sleeps on her belly, and turns her back over up to ten times as night but she just rolls back to her comfy spot.

Me.. Well I would do whatever needs doing.. But dislike going to the shed! Spiders!

‘Chores’ wise though we both turn our hand to anything! Depends who is around and not otherwise occupied when it needs doing.

I also never make a cup of tea. Hate it..
If dp at work I drink a cold drink..

DH will do most things but seems to not notice when everyday cleaning or tidying jobs need doing or when bins need changing, so I'll either tell him or do it myself.

He mows and DIYs.

I never iron anything. Don't see the need. He irons his own stuff if needed.

We both cook. Poorly.

Twotabbycats · 24/07/2018 16:29

If he empties the dishwasher he won't put away the 'difficult' things. Plates, mugs, cutlery, pans - yes. Tupperware boxes that need to be stacked in a particular way so they fit in the cupboard - no. Measuring cups/jugs, cheese grater, baking stuff -no. They all sit on the worktop till I round them up.

He only takes the rubbish out if I ask him to and he doesn't put a new liner in the kitchen bin - half a job!

However he does do his share generally including mowing the lawn, most of the gardening and 99% of the ironing (though I could get by for a long time without ironing anything; he on the other hand needs his work shirts to be ironed!).

Metoodear · 24/07/2018 16:31

Dh wont really do diy

ASatisfyingThump · 24/07/2018 16:37

DH doesn't cook - he's often not here at dinner time so it became my job and now his skills have atrophied to the point where I won't let him in the kitchen to make anything more complicated than a hot drink. It's better for my sanity to just do it myself!

I refuse to clean the bathroom. I'm the only female in the house, DS1 still sometimes misses the toilet and DS2 has yet to be toilet trained. I draw the line at cleaning other people's piss off the floor. So DH does it.

L0UISA · 24/07/2018 16:43

I don’t do housework, tidying, cleaning, shopping , cooking, menu planning , washing , ironing , buying clothes, clearing out cupboards, buying gifts, household admin, organising insurance, holidays, Christmas birthdays, buying anything for the house or any kind of childcare. Or any DIY, decorating or gardening.

But I take the bins out every single Friday and I take the car for it’s MOT once a year. So I feel it all balances out.

OH does the washing up, laundry and all the gardening. I do the vacuuming, mop floors, and the bathrooms. We make the bed together because we both hate it.

DiscontinuedModelHusband · 24/07/2018 17:11

We share:
Washing/bedding
Cooking (60/40 me/her)
Ironing (90/10 her/me - because i'm very slow and methodical)
Hoovering
Dusting (70/30 her/me)
Bathrooms
DC discipline
DC mental load (60/40 her/me)
Birthdays/events (70/30 her/me)
Shopping (60/40 me/her)

We don't share:
Financial stuff (all me - her choice, drives me nuts)
Other paperwork (all me - her choice)
Bins (all me)
Spiders (used to be all me, but now DS2 does them as I don't really like them either)
Sewing - buttons, dropped hems etc (all her - her choice)
Lawn mowing (all me, unless i leave it long enough, then MIL does it Smile)

Oh yes and he doesn't do spider removal! But does wasps, which I hate, so seems fair to me!

Ditto! I'm petrified of wasps but can cope with spiders if necessary.

Neither of us will fly Ryanair.
Macaroni cheese is a no-no after we were ill once on holiday after eating it.

VeryHangryCaterpillar · 24/07/2018 18:48

I won’t turn on the gas barbecue for fear of it blowing up in my face so that’s my husband’s job. Mean I know but to be fair, I am better looking than him.

LongSummerDays · 24/07/2018 18:53

I forgot spiders! I do spider removal if needed.
