Children’s ages on doorframe.

Old door frames, looking very scrappy. I’m going to repaint in the next few weeks, and children’s heights marked on it. DP wants me to re-add names and heights of children (2,6, and 9) afterwards, but seems mad to do that on freshly painted wood. Who is being unreasonable?

We have a plank of wood that is painted white and we've drawn ruler markings on it up to 2m. The kids heights are all on there and it's nailed to the wall adjacent to one of the bedroom doors so it looks like it's an extension of the frame. It can come with us when we move.

Mine are on the kitchen wall. Kitchen was repainted earlier this year. I painted a 'frame' round the heights so we have a rectangle in a different colour on one wall.

I feel so sad that I never did this. Had a poster one when they were younger but it got tatty and I binned it.

When I was little , we marked our heights as we grew on the edge of the door itself. You can't see it when it's closed, and it's less obvious than marks on the door frame even when the door is open.

I left mine when I decorated, I would have hated to loose them.

When we moved I traced my wall markings and then in the new house transferred them onto a Pinterest friendly wooden height chart thing. Had to guess some of the younger ones though as we'd forgotten some key ages!!

Ours are on a door way that's going to have a frame put on soon, I'm putting them back afterwards. I plot their height in their red book every year on their birthdays so I'm just going to get the measurements from that. Love that picture above. Going to steal that idea!

We had this but our nans house....was quite sad when the house was sold on to think they'd be gone forever!
Don't do it OP you need to keep them!

We knocked down the waller’d Started doing thus on, when the dc were 3 and 6. 4 years later I still have the old door frame in the garage. Incant quite bring myself together rid of it. We have a height chart on the new wall.
