Headteacher awards - AIBU?

DD is finishing reception. She recently complained that she didn’t ever get a “headteacher award” - apparently these are a thing in her school. She named a few of her friends who got several. From what she says it seems like everyone in her class got one...
She is according to what the teacher told us a well behaved girl. She is well above expectations in reading and writing - however I needed to point out to the teacher that she needs to move up from her current book bands. The teacher told me she was “surprised” and only noticed that she can read a few levels above her current band only after we told her ourselves. Some of her friends got awards for reading - not her, and she is probably by far the best in her class.
AIBU to feel something is a bit strange here? I feel she is not getting any attention or encouragement and that this situation is perhaps unfair.
For example if you give awards to more than half the class you should probably give it to everyone at this age.

Don't make a thing of it. She has been missed out by accident, most likely because she's doing well and isn't a cause for concern. Next year she will have a new teacher who will approach things differently.

I'm not sure how you can say you know her place in the class unless you teach them, especially when you say 'by far'.

She's only in reception, if she's working hard and well behaved run with it. Be careful not to give her a hang up about not getting an award.
