Is this greasy feeling normal

I had my first ever facial today. I am not one for looking after my skin. It gets a wash with soap in the shower and then dried on a towel. My facial was lovely but my dry skin was noted. I have been wandering round for the rest of the day feeling greasy ad am having to shower. Every time I touch my face my finger comes away covered on grease. Is this how people who do moisturise usually feel?

Depends on the brand, some are really thick and greasy.

angelikacpickles · 20/07/2018 22:23

I think it's pretty normal to feel greasy after a facial as they usually use several heavy creams/serums/oils, but that's not how your face feels after applying a normal moisturiser.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2018 22:24

But if I go to wipe a lash out of my eye I'm just rubbing cream from round my eye into my eye. Seven hours after the facial. That can't be normal.

Yes, I often find I’m a bit greasy after a facial. Once I’ve washed I feel better but don’t feel greasy with moisturiser. If you do you’re using one that’s too rich.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2018 22:24

Ah thank you. I was put off. Should probably start to use one.

I know exactly what you mean. My skin always feels lovely and plump after a facial but greasy. I like the slightly taut feeling soap and water gives me, even though it's not great for my skin

Birdsgottafly · 20/07/2018 22:25

If the moisturiser is sitting on your skin, then it is either too rich for you, or your skin needs a better routine, including regular exfoliation.

I think that they've probably given you an extra rich one, if your skin is very dry.

"Ah thank you. I was put off. Should probably start to use one."

How old are you?

HemanOrSheRa · 20/07/2018 22:29

Eurgh. I know that feeling. Bloody awful. Though it depends what products they used. My sister gets regular facials and has AMAZING skin. My skin can't cope with all that fiddling about. You may wake up tomorrow looking 10 years younger Grin.

They really are greasy as hell to me, I don't put anything on my face and only give it a good rub with an exfoliating glove in the bath/shower.

DesignStatement · 20/07/2018 22:37

Yes - my routine is a shower, wash in water and dry with towel. Hate the feeling of grease on my face. My skin is great - occasionally have a facial if I go to a hotel with a spa and they always compliment me on 'looking after my skin' 😂😂.

Mum, why are you on MN?! Grin

You can really, really light stuff that you can't feel- hada labo for example. Gels are lighter than creams usually as well, I like the superdrug vitamin E range as it's really nice, but also cheap so no great loss if you don't like it.
