Have a job but start in September. Don’t get paid until 28th.

Last day of work is today.

How can I live for two and a half months, can I claim jobseekers?

I’m not in a touristy area but thanks.

Make an application anyway and tell them why you were manoeuvred out. It's always worth a shot. But do the claim tonight online, if it is successful, it will be backdated.

Thanks

I don't know if this is a helpful suggestion or not, but babysitting?
My Dd1 made almost £1000 in the summer between finishing sixth form in the May and leaving for university in the September. It's instant money too - no training/induction period, and no waiting until the end of the month to get paid.

You can claim contribution based JSA as you’ve contributed and it doesn’t matter why you are unemployed - please check this out at your local job Center pronto

Also put in a claim today for housing benefit and council tax relief, you need to apply today and then get evidence in as you get them, bank statements etc but don’t delay in claiming so that it applies from today iyswim as it’s harder to get back dated pay through ignorance if not claiming

Unless you have something like gross misconduct you will be due paid notice, outstanding holidays prorata etc . How long have you been working there? If you leave voluntarily it could affect your entitlement to benefits.

Of course you are entitled to make a claim even for this short period of time.
Unfortunately it's complicated depending on whether universal credit is full service in your area or not.
If yes you would need to apply for this.
If no, it's contributions based JSA if you have paid enough NI, or income based JSA otherwise. Both are £73.10 a week.
Hope you can get it sorted

""I would ring all care homes & hotels and ask if they need a cleaner.""

Cleaning jobs in Care Homes generally need a DBS, Certificate to handle the chemicals etc, experience. Which is why the Cleaners are paid the same as the Care Assistants. It isn't a completely unskilled job, as such.

OP, as said, put a claim in, you can get interim payments whilst it is being processed, or at least access to a Food Bank. also try agencies.

It depends on what is in your area, if you have transport, there are usually early start packing jobs somewhere that pay weekly.
