To ask her to stop asking me questions?

A colleague has been moved to sit next to me (as there were arguments between who she was sat with before).

She asks me so many related work questions a day it’s starting to grate on me so much! She’s worked this role for 9 months and knows what she’s doing.

I genuinely do not mind helping people but when it starts to interfere with my work and that I’m dreading coming into work ... aibu to ask her to stop asking me? (Btw there is a dedicated person in our team that if you are struggling with something you can ask them)

best you direct all you questions to 'designated person' as then you are sure to get the correct answer and support

Would your work allow you to put on headphones, so that you can work to music? So if she needs to ask a question the rigmarole of taking them off before asking "What was that again?" is a bit more of an effort?
I learned as a student to "put up the glass wall" and it has proved invaluable when focus is needed. I can also put on a bit of an act, saying "Sorry, what was that? I was concentrating." as I "come back into focus"
Don't be rude about it, just make it a bit less convenient. You've inadvertently become less hassle than referring to the lady whose job it is to deal with this; easier to just lean across the table. You can always be pleasant and chatty at teabreak; just make it clear that you're there to work.

Say if you ask the dedicated person they are then able to see if everyone is asking the same questions so can either roll out process notes or do training for everyone. Even if they don't do that a polite way to say ask them Grin
