YANBU. I like the Amber Solaire clear sprays, they're not sticky!

bluerunningshoes · 19/07/2018 22:04

who buys that shit you ask?
I do. the pack promises 'suitable for sahara expedition'
I'm sure the extra sand provides extra uv protection...Confused

I only want physical protection (like zinc dioxide). I want to avoid the chemical sunscreens. So I only like the sticky ones, yabu

GfordMum101 · 19/07/2018 22:10

Have used Ambre Solaire Smooth and Silky for years and love it. Then got freaked out by low UVA rating of 3 stars so tried other high star types. They are all disgusting and sticky. What do I do now?

bluerunningshoes · 20/07/2018 13:58

I think the norm should be non-sticky and sticky ones should be labelled as such.

We had to do a lot of trial and error to find one which autistic ds would tolerate after his last acceptable one was discontinued!

bluerunningshoes · 20/07/2018 14:06

yes sirzy just ready 'new and improved formula' brings me out in a rash.

I hate the discontinuing of stuff. last year we had soltan dry touch - this year it's nowhere to be found

That’s exactly what we had last year!

bluerunningshoes · 20/07/2018 19:00

I just hate sticky, can't you tell?

CoraPirbright · 20/07/2018 19:03

Ultrasun sports gel or spray. Really good. Not sticky at all.

SchrodingersMeowth · 20/07/2018 19:05

Sirzy Our suspected ASD Son seems to get on okay with the clear sprays but hates the primark one.

Mishappening · 20/07/2018 19:21

Cover grandson in suncream, he rushes off to sandpit!

bluerunningshoes · 20/07/2018 19:25

the spray kind are often too liquid (i.e get on my eyes) for my liking.
plus sun lotions are quite expensive for trying a few if you only need 2 bottles a year.

I’ve given up and stayed inside during peak times. Cannot stand the feeling.

CaliforniaLoove · 20/07/2018 19:29

Ultrasound. Also hate feeling sticky in any form.

CaliforniaLoove · 20/07/2018 19:29

UltraSUN

BakedBeans47 · 20/07/2018 19:30

I got Lidl stuff last year which wasn’t sticky so much but had the consistency of WD40

Thebookswereherfriends · 20/07/2018 19:31

Garnier Amber Solair dry mist is the business. It goes on really easy and quick, gives great protection ( been putting it on my daughter before school and she's stayed unburnt) and you don't feel like your hands are covered in sudocrem. No stickiness!

HuntIdeas · 20/07/2018 19:31

I love sunsense but it is a bit pricey

bluerunningshoes · 20/07/2018 19:35

thanks for your recommenations. hopefully next year they are still available ...

WaxOnFeckOff · 20/07/2018 19:51

I use the Clear and protect too but used to love the Banana boat powder dry ones before that - they smell amazing as an added bonus, unless you are allergic to the perfumes in which case it's a pain glares at DH

House4 · 20/07/2018 20:03

I’ve just ordered Altruist from amazon after reading some mumsnet recommendations. It’s 5star. A lot of the dry mist ones aren’t which I can’t understand. Why are some 3star?

LockedOutOfMN · 20/07/2018 20:08

We use La Roche-Posay SPF50 mist (it sprays on like an aerosol - a very fine mist) for body and the same brand stick for face. Neither product is sticky.
