To worry about DS while on holiday?

On a family holiday atm and the weather is in the low 30s every day.
My parents, DSis ans her partner are on factor 20/30 and are slowly going pink and brown.

Myself and both DS (7&1) are on factor 50. I'm sitting in the shade most dats and have a little colour, mainly more freckles and looking less white and more cream. DS2 is covered from head to toe, all in one swim suit etc and is still very much as pale as when we came.
My worry is DS1. He tans very easily and always has done. Back home he very much had a tan despite being covered in factor 50 he had a tan before leaving. He is now very dark (compared to me) but regularly sits indoors and is out the sun for the midday heat.

I am still very worried about the skin damage he may be facing. I'm doing everything I can to minimise/prevent too much exposure. My family don't have the same issue as me, they see nothing wrong in being brown and red. They don't worry about the implications of sun exposure.

Aibu to worry? Do people just naturally tan, without issue?

Apologise for typos, my touch screen is not what it was

If you're covering him in sun cream and keeping him in the shade in the hottest part of the day I wouldn't worry, sounds like he is just lucky enough to tan easily. A bit of sun exposure is good for vitamin D levels.

Thanks for the reassurance.
My parents don't understand why I would insist on factor 50 when it's "only in the 30s" or seem to bother about proper sun care.
I don't mind sitting out, in the shade of some sort, but certainly don't want myself or my kids to cook ourselves or suffer ill effects.

Well I agree with them on the factor 50, I don't think it is necessary and don't plaster suncream on my kids. However I don't let them outside in the sun between 11-15:30 at all, we live abroad and it is very hot. That is sensible. It sounds like your kids are having sensible sun exposure I wouldn't worry.
