To think kids are too young to make life changing decision like this?

If they start 'social transition' it can lead to drugs which sterilise them - there's no way they can understand what this means for the rest of their life

Conflating a report on possible changes to legislation on how young people may obtain GRC document in Ireland with conversion therapy, homophobia and sterilising children is not helpful

Truth and material reality are not helpful to transadvocacy. Children are being set on a path to sterilisation, many will be gay kids and it does amount to conversion therapy. You don't like it, I don't like it, but there we are.

There are many videos online, of trans children and their parents.
It seems obvious to me, from what they say, that most of those children are simply gender-non-conforming.
They have been told by society, including their parents, that boys/girls must look and behave in certain ways so they decide they must be the wrong sex.
Adults then tell them that they can change sex, to make themselves 'right'. Sad

watching Hannah Gadsby's amazing 'Nanette', one thing that jumped out at me was her recounting receiving a facebook letter telling her that she should transition 'for the sake of her community'.

who cares if she knows she's female and has no problem with her sex?

she's got short hair and wears trousers and no make up.

people think this means she should pretend to be a man.

some people really can't bear any untidiness. Not conforming to gender stereotypes? pretend to be the opposite sex! that way everyone is conforming again!

Trouble is if you ban Lupron for children, this will impact on girls who take it for precocious puberty !

its also used in endometriosis CASES TOO !

ReluctantCamper · 20/07/2018 14:56

In those cases it is being used for a genuine medical reason.

Administering it to prevent a child ever going through puberty? Nah, don't do that

ReluctantCamper · 20/07/2018 14:59

And I have spoken to women on here who've taken it for endometriosis. They invariably relate that the side effects are horrifc

Plus they are only allowed to take it for a very limited period of time for safety reasons

Unlike w it's being administered to gender non conforming children

If a girl or young woman says she wants to be sterilised because she never wants to have children, no doctor will take her seriously until she is over 30. Even then, they take a bit of persuading. (I know from the experience of a family member.)

If she says she wants to take hormones and have her breasts removed because she's really a male, tho, that's absolutely fine to do.

I feel sorry for parents that are told to consent to "conversion therapy and drugs" (Yes, it does sound like that's what it is), otherwise their child will commit suicide or self-harm.

The so-called evidence for this scare-mongering came from a report by Stonewall - a charity (?). It has been widely reported in the media and influenced the government, schools and other policy areas. It also (a) scared the living daylights out of parents, (b) gave young people ideas about how to get what they (thought that they) wanted.

The survey of supposed young people - there is no guarantee that the responses weren't faked or filled in by adults - has been debunked as deeply flawed and misleading here:

This is a good article, making the point that trans ideology fails all children by giving them the idea that they need to 'fix' themselves to be acceptable.
