Are any of your children REALLY LOUD?

I'm asking because a friend of mine has a DD (aged 8) who is so frigging loud, it's putting me off having her over! She has two smaller sisters and they're not loud at all!

She SHOUTS all the time. Whatever she's doing or saying it's in a tone of voice suited more to a soccer pitch.

What can I DO? I say "Indoor voices please!" and "Keep the voices down please!" and so on but she can't seem to regulate her voice at all!

She's a nice child..my DS and DD love her but even they say "Gosh she's so loud after a while! She hurts me ears!"

Why are some children this way? I've been at events and seen her parents benignly smile at her when she's like this....they're not especially loud ...they don't seem to notice her voice or say anything/

My son and his father are bloody foghorns. DH does have hearing loss as does his father so he's shouted all his life, understandable.
DS has hearing tested annually and always fine but I am forever asking 'lower your voice please'. He does for a few moments but then straight back again.

I actually think I'm starting to get louder too just trying to be heard.

My stepson is but so is his mum. You can hear them both a mile off.

Dsis is like this, she’s in her mid twenties now and I’m still hoping she’ll grow out of it... she does everything at top volume though, she stomps around, bangs doors, everything.

My DS is like this as well. Never needs a microphone in school plays.

Honestly I bet my dd is louder than anyone else’s. The children at her primary school have complained about the noise she makes. I can even hear her outside the school at pick up time.

No hearing problems btw just such a loud voice (and cry.)

DS1 is loud. He is autistic though, so probably not something he can control. He speaks fairly normally, and even too quietly and I get annoyed having to ask him to repeat himself 3 or 4 times, especially when I'm driving. But he makes odd noises - hooting and mooing mainly - and they are fucking loud. The hooting thing especially makes me want to rip my own arm off and bludgeon him with it. But he can't help it, it's a coping mechanism, he tends to do it when he is feeling scared, which can be at any point of the day - he is scared of himself sometimes. But fuck me the hooting gives me the rage!

My DH says I'm loud. I don't know what he's talking about.

@Mousefunky - my middle child is exactly the same! Her school reports mention how softly spoken she is but at home! Shock

I wonder if I should buy ear plugs for daily use Confused
