5yo DTs both throwing up since this morning. Both now throwing up yellow bile.
The NHS website says yellow bile needs to be seen by a GP, but I really don't want to take two vomiting children to the surgery. I have been trying to call to ask for a phone consultation but can't get through.
Am I ok to keep giving them sips of water and dioralyte ice-lollies, or should I be trying harder to get through to a medical professional?

Call non emergency NHS number. Apparently there is norovirus preading now

Well, if it's norovirus, I don't need medical advice, it's all there online. It's the yellow bile I'm slightly concerned about. Can we assume it's just because they've thrown up so much?

I would assume their stomachs were just empty once they started bringing up bile
I’ve never taken mine to the doctors for vomiting (including when we had the now infamous stomach bug of 2015 and all slept on the bathroom floor and by the end of the night we’re so weak we weren’t even reaching the toilet to vomit, just doing it on the floor and passing back out to sleep right next to it Envy )
I’d just keep them hydrated and later on try to get something in them, some toast or something to settle the stomach

Thank you, OnlyBaBaBiss. That's roughly my plan, I just got a bit freaked out by the yellow bile.
The sicker one is now asking for toast. (actually, she's asking for porridge, but I vetoed that).

If one of them is asking for toast, it sounds like she’s through the worst and starting to get her appetite back. The fact that they were both ill suggests it’s most likely an infection, and norovirus is a prime suspect.
Keep gently rehydrating with oral fluids as tolerated, and offer bland solids ( toast, plain biscuits, nothing too fatty or rich) when they feel hungry again.
If the vomiting restarts, or hasn’t settled by tomorrow, or either of them becomes dehydrated (producing small quantities of darker concentrated urine, having sunken looking eyes), then certainly take them to the GP to see if they need admitted for iv rehydration.
I’m sure they’ll soon both be fine though.

Thank you very much for the comforting advice. I will follow it closely (with the addition of dioralyte ice lollies, because I can).
