To expect some results even this early on?

I'm trying to get rid of a few pounds/excess baby weight that's hanging on so about 2 weeks ago I started exercising every 2nd day, a combination of cardio and strength training.

I also downloaded my fitness pal and my daily limit is 1200 calories. In usually on target but if I go over it's never above 1500 a day. I'm also making a conscious effort to choose healthy foods and drink plenty of water.

Two weeks in though and the scales hasn't moved! At all! Not a pound, not even a half pound- not a flicker! Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting to drop a stone over 2 weeks but surely I should see something, shouldn't I? Am I expecting too much or what am I doing wrong?

1200-1500 calories is far too low especially combined with your training, thats why. I lose more when I eat more. I'm losing well on 1800 calories.

Look at the IIFYM calculator and go by those calories instead.

Takes about 3 weeks for me before I get results. If you were very overweight you probably would get results more quickly.

Same the other way, it takes around 3 weeks of overeating (for me) to start gaining weight. Just give yourself some time.

Are you logging everything that passes your lips, including drinks?

Exercise has to be pretty intense for it to make a difference I’ve found.

Weight loss also seems to go in jumps for me, nothing for a while, then a few pounds off all at once.

Have you measured yourself? Sometimes my weight doesn't move but inches do

Don't give up and hard as it is don't get obsessive about the numbers on the scale. Think of it like a life overhaul. A change in lifestyle, as it were.

I have to get my BMI to 30 so I've started exercising and clean eating and stopped pissing around with quick fixes.

When I've done this B4, as PP's above, I lose more when eating more - but NO CARBS (obvious ones - bread, rice, pasta, potatoes & junk).

I've also (this week) switched my swimming (30x 25m in 25mins - I'll up to 50 lengths gradually) to the mornings B4 work so I can fit in other stuff in the evenings, tonight I did power yoga and on Thursday im booked in for Pilates. There's body balance on Saturday and then yoga & Pilates back to back on Sunday.

Once I'm fitter, I'll try some of the harder classes like body attack etc but I don't feel up to that yet.

See it as a long term thing & lifestyle change rather than a quick fix to get the weight off where you go back to your old habits.
