To ask, if the complaint iis against you and you work for the NHS

What exactly happens? Do you know who made the complaint? Are you able to look at the complaint if it was in writing?

I am just wondering, since somebody on my friends Facebook has been bullying her and she said that if the friend complained, she would be able to see the complaint. I don't think somebody working for the NHS should be on the persons Facebook anyway, it is a person with special needs and if the person doesn't like her she should just unfriend her. I think the person working for the NHS enjoys the Saturday drama though. Anyway, I find it very unethical and I would even complain on my friends behalf.

I'm not 100% sure I understand is this a health care worker who is treating this person then they are also on their Facebook and are bullying them ? I work for the nhs only admin/ reception work if it was about me personally e.g. someone said I was unhelpful well all our calls are recorded and we have cctv on reception so they would listen to call then pull me in for a chat if they thought I did nothing wrong they would respond saying that and offer to let them listen to the call and also explain the procedure I was following. If I did do something that was unhelpful It would be discussed and possibly extra training offered then my calls would be listened to at random. If it's against a doctor or nurse it is different as only the 2 people in the room but yes they are told about it and asked to give their side of the story then it is investigated by practice manager. If this health care professional is bullying a patient on Facebook then yes I would advice contacting the practice manager and taking copies of all the communication , also if they have mentioned anything regarding their treatment or conditions this is gross misconduct. The person involved will be told what the complaint is about. You could also contact the police about bullying and harassment online

If someone lodges a complaint through an NHS trust’s formal complaints process then any employee named in the complaint would be asked to respond. The employee’s manager should support them through this process. Most NHS trusts have a complaints manager who will draft a letter which should be then reviewed by the respondents and then signed off by a member of the executive team, often the CEO.
