So, I think this is the first post I have created here but I am a long time lurker and occasional poster.
My kids and I saw a couple card games on Amazon we liked last week that we liked. I had spent way too much money while in our two week camping trip due to unforeseen circumstances so I decided to wait to get them. I saw due to a thread here about Prime Day. I go to look and see that one of the games price has changed from $31.99 to $39.99. This has been since Thursday last week and now it’s midday Monday.
It is part of the Prime Day Sale. So it’s now 30% off... So if it was at the original price it would be $22.39. At its new price it’s $27.99. Still a “sale” but not as good as they are trying to show.
I think it’s slimy as hell and wrong business practice. What do you think?
I talked to Amazon, their response is that prices fluctuate all of the time and they don’t control it. I agree with that, but usually on lower priced items by $0.25 - $1.00 not $8. That this is bad business practice to raise a price that drastically before a sale and I believe not legal.
What else has been raised that much so the “sale” isn’t actually a sale??? I believe in our (Canadian) stores it is illegal to do this kind of BS.
