Centre Parcs and beehive in lodge wall.

We arrived Friday and noticed a few bees around our patio are at the back of the lodge but didn’t think much of it. Over the next couple of days we started to notice bees going into a hole in the wall beside the back bedroom and steam room, suspected it was a hive so told guest services. They have confirmed its bees and just to leave it alone.

Today numbers have increased to hundreds of bees. We can’t open the window in the back room, we can’t use the patio or steam room because there are well over a hundred bees out there. They are all over the wall and roof

I know we need to looks after bees. I like bees but to be honest I’m not happy we now can’t use the outside area or the stream room. The buzzing inside the bedroom wall is pretty loud and there is also a musty smell now. I know they can move bees to a safe location if it’s a problem and I suspect this will only get worse over the summer months.

So AIBU to think the staff would arrange for something to be done to move the bees to a safe spot away from the internal wall of a lodge?

She hasn't even spoken to guest services. No need for social media! Op just go down to guest services and get them to come look. Ask to be moved to a different cabin. I know your mil would rather stay close to the centre but surely you would all rather have a lodge you can actually use

I think Id ask for a different lodge OP.

I like bees. Indeed we had a swarm on our drive way recently and a nice bee keeper came and took them away. i dont even mind the odd few in the house but not the hundreds youre describing.

If the bees cant be moved then youll have to be. Its not full holiday season yet so hopefully they wont have a problem with finding you an alternative

I did speak to guest services this morning. The problem wasn’t so bad when the ranger came to have a look. The numbers have slowed down again so I am waiting to film them when it is busy again before I go to guest services again. I don’t think posting on Facebook etc is the right thing to do at the moment.

DH isn’t fussed about the bees and doesn’t care about moving. I will see what happens overnight and tomorrow. I would like to move but I appear to be the only one who does. We are here as a group of 8 adults and 4 children.

I will keep you updated with what happens.

Go to guest services and demand to be moved, you can't use the facilities you booked! If you don't go and complain straight away then you might not have a leg to stand on if anything happens.

We had a mouse problem - not a massive issue and they were brilliant in setting a trap and deep cleaning the kitchen. They immediately offered us an option to move too. I suppose it depends whether they have a comparable lodge to move you too.

Bees will ignore you if you ignore them, they will not sting if you leave them alone.

In this situation, they might. A random bee in the garden is not the same as a mass of bees by their hive.

I thought this was an interesting twist on the old centre parks and anal sex classic! 😊
