Never put milk in mash when making a shepherds or cottage pie just butter you want a stiff robust mash that will support the pie

Grin at the cauliflower.

We don't use yeast in our pizza bases. We do this cheaptastyandeasy.wordpress.com/friday-night-pizza-for-movie-night/ and just add toppings on then put in oven. It's really nice.

If you’re marinating beef for a stew, splash in some Cognac/brandy, it really tenderizes the meat.

If you’re using cloves in a recipes, push them into an onion, you can then lift them out really easily when you’re ready.
Melted butter in pancake mix stops them from sticking.
If sauces need thickening, melt some butter then mix it with plain flour, add the paste to your sauce, no lumps! It also keeps in the fridge for a while.

For really crispy roast potatoes shake in polenta before adding to hot fat.
