Sainsburys incontinence/sanitary pads

Sainsburys website lists incontinence pads and sanitary pads as a joint but deprecate section. AIBU to find this a bit offensive?
It’s a bit like saying incontinence (which is a male/female issue and more a result of age or ailment than menstruation) is the same menstruation. Just feels wrong to me.

They aren't thinking of it like you are. They're putting them where people would look for them.

I haven't ever needed to buy them, yet, but if/when I do; that would be where I would look. Both in an aisle and online.

Incontinence can affect men but much, much more commonly affects women. Many women use sanitary products to manage incontinence. So it makes sense for them to be close to each other so that they're easy to locate. I'm not really sure why it would be offensive anyway? It's not suggesting that incontinence and menstruation are the same thing, just that the method of dealing with both can be similar.

ShatnersBassoon · 15/07/2018 17:55

They're very, very similar products; they're all worn in or instead of underwear to absorb an uncontrollable release of fluid. Some are multipurpose. There's absolutely nothing to be offended by Confused

It’s not like saying that at all

What a thoroughly bizarre opinion

FemaleDilbert · 15/07/2018 18:00

I use incontinence pads as sanitary pads when my flow is heavy at night. Boots shelve them together as well.

I think you are overthinking it

Cheerbear23 · 15/07/2018 18:02

I don’t think it’s like saying that . I just think ‘pads’ for underwear.

ClumsyFool · 15/07/2018 18:05

They’re personal hygiene products and are very very similar in terms of the actual product so it makes sense to have them together as it’s logical, which makes it easier for a customer to find them surely?

Bluelady · 15/07/2018 18:05

Is this for real?

ClumsyFool · 15/07/2018 18:05

Where would you suggest they sit then?

Notquiteagandt · 15/07/2018 18:07

They are together in every store though.

Thanks to HG I have had to start wearing tena ladies. I would much rather they where together with sanitry products then seperate. At 29 yrs of age I would rather not announce to world I need them by going to a seperate isle or area etc.

JuniperBeer · 15/07/2018 18:08

I think you’re confusing being offended with just disagreeing with something!

feathermucker · 15/07/2018 18:10

Erm.........what now?

Reaa · 15/07/2018 18:10

The men's pads are in the men's personal section.

Reaa · 15/07/2018 18:10

Personal hygiene section
