to think this 'joke' was out of order

A girl I used to be friends with as a child got married the other day (we lost touch a while ago). I was looking at her wedding photos on social media and DP said " I got the wrong friend".

She's very pretty, true, but seriously? During our friendship I experienced comments like this about how she was better than me. I was upset/cross with him, and he said it was only a 'funny joke' and to not be so silly. AIBU?

I don't think it's got anything to do with how secure you feel or how "good" your relationship is but more about the established pattern of how you treat one another. If your relationship already consists of this kind of jokey banter and it's kind of your thing together then you're not going to get upset by it.
It's clearly not usual in the OPs relationship so it's upset her, but to imply that her relationship somehow isn't "good" or "secure" because she felt like that is a bit off.

It depends if you're the type of couple to have a laugh together or not. DH and I joke around all the time, we'd definitely say this kind of thing to each other and would both comment on someone of the opposite sex we found attractive. If you're not like that then I suppose it's not a joke.

My sister's husband said exactly the same thing about me on my wedding day. He was a dick too

I would forgive but not forget and if a similar opportunity came along, might be tempted to take it
