So tonight I bought a new clothing item and was completing the delivery address and the form asked for my title.

There was the usual Sir, Mrs, Ms, Dr etc but there was a new one Mx.

What does Mx represent? Is this new and I'm late to the party? Ive never heard of it before.

It's gender neutral AFAIK.

How do you say Mx

What does AFAIK stand for ?

HildaZelda · 14/07/2018 00:52

@Coco2891, as far as I know.

I think it's gender neutral for someone who doesn't identify/want to be pigeon holed as Mr or Mrs/miss/miss

So MX would be kind of unisex gender neutral...

I'm not sure how it's pronounced, .maybe it's pronounced how it's spelled "MUX or MIX"

Thanks Hilda x

Gender neutral honorific. It's pronounced with the same vowel sound as Ms but instead of a 'zz' sound at the end it's a 'cks' sound - so like 'Micks' but with a very short 'i'. I've also heard it pronounced 'Emkays' but I think that's less common.

Thank you
