AIBU to go on holiday on my own?!

After a tough year my husband suggested getting away and going on holiday with a friend in September when the kids are back at school. I spoke with a couple of friends and we booked a week away.

When speaking with other people I seem to get comments that make me feel like I am being selfish and it’s making me feel guilty for going away on my own.

For context, I work every hour they are at school but am with them 24/7 otherwise as my husband works away a lot (he has Two weeks off when we plan to go). I’ve had a very stressful and upsetting time in my personal life and have been quite poorly.

I was really excited but now I’ve got cold feet as to whether I should stay and stay with the kids.

So AIBU to go away on my own with friends?

I’ve just seen the extra comments Blush sorry!

Thank you for your support everyone. I have started to get excited again and it is down to you guys and dh of course!

I am so lucky at how supportive he is and I know the kids (and him) will enjoy time
together in the evenings making memories.

I’m definitely not cancelling and day by day I’m brushing the guilt away Smile it’s lovely to have something to look forward to.

I hope you all have the best summer, your input has been invaluable to me xxx
