What?

gaalia · 13/07/2018 19:58

how to complain about a bus driver who has passed a red traffic light

He ran a red light. There must be some sort of transportation authority you could contact. Personally, I'd let it go.

IcaMorgan · 13/07/2018 20:00

Ring Tfl if you know route, where and when if you want to complain about any Tfl service

gaalia · 13/07/2018 21:25

thank you

What did he say when you asked him?

Bookvan · 13/07/2018 23:46

Bus driver here.
If he genuinely went through a red light then you should report. But... buses can't stop quickly without risking injuring passengers. In my experience, light could be amber when the front of the bus went past and red when the back end of the bus went past.

the problem was, that he was on the bus stop, and he was stoped already and when we tryed to cross, he goes also on the red light ,we saw that he was stop, and then bus goes at the same time with us, the traffic light for him was still red

I complained about a dangerous manoeuvre a bus I was on made. The bus had CCTV and the bus company were very responsive to my complaint.

How do people find the energy to complain about every little thing...ffs let it go !!!

Zippyitdoodar · 14/07/2018 08:15

I'd let it go. You have to remember this person could lose their job.
Of course if they were really driving like a nutter you should report, otherwise forget it. We all make mistakes.

shakingmyhead1 · 14/07/2018 08:20

you mean you had the green light and the bus was on a red light and he pulled out in front of you ( while still on a red light)?

gaalia · 14/07/2018 08:50

yes shakingmyhead1

how the people find energy to write comments for things that they don't care-their live and live to others

Yes I've complained as a pedestrian whose newborn in his pram would've been knocked over by a double decker bus when it should've stopped. It was miraculous that I pulled back onto the pavement in time.
Of course you should complain. It's a big deal.

The irony! Do you have nothing better to do with your time than complain about someone making a simple mistake where no harm was done?

Someone could lose their job over this. Is that what you want?

YABVU because without them the AIBU section would be very empty. Grin

i have made a complaint about a school bus driver not stopping on a stop sign, he came up to the stop sign ( and it is an intersection that you do have to stop on as the left hand side is completely shielded by a tree line and a half paddock sized water storage dam right up to the fence line) and as he was slowing down he put on his hazard lights and went thru the stop sign and then pulled up next to me on the other side of the intersection to let the kids off... did i make a complaint you are damned right i did, twice i have almost been broadsided by people not stopping there, i dont care if he lost his job he is carrying passengers, he is responsible for their lives while on his bus and risking lives for the sake of a 3 second stop is not on ( 3 seconds is the regulated minimum stop time in NZ for a stop sign, and also considering he was pulling over at the bus stop directly across the road there was no need to worry about losing time)
In your case its the same you get on a bus and put your life in the hands of the driver and you expect him/her to ensure your safety by driving to the rules and not taking unnecessary risks, he ran a fully red light, yes i think i would make a complaint and suggest some driver training and a road rules refresher course ... he got away with the maneuver this time he might not get so lucky next time and next time he just might kill or injure someone ( depending on the complaint wording they might call for more training or to fire him, depending on how you word it and what you suggest you want to happen)

MsFrizzle · 15/07/2018 02:03

Running a red light isn't making a simple mistake. I've never seen anybody I drive with run a red light - purposely go through a light that's red, especially when somebody's about to cross the road. That's disgusting.

ElementalHalfLife · 15/07/2018 02:04

He should lose his bloody job if he can't obey the rules of the road as a professional driver. And in something the size of a bus. Red light jumper t-boned my nephew, his car was totaled and he was badly injured fortunately it was only another car, if it had been a bus he'd be dead. Report the bus driver OP.

vodkaredbullgirl · 15/07/2018 02:12

if it was only once, id let it go

who hasn't run a red light, i have many times.

MsFrizzle · 15/07/2018 02:15

Why would you run a red light?

vodkaredbullgirl · 15/07/2018 02:19

it was an accident
