To ask what the duck to get a friend who's had a baby

Please help me! I haven't a clue what to get her and the baby. She had him about 3 weeks ago and we're seeing them tomorrow.

What do you wish you had as a gift after having a baby? What was your favourite gift? What did you appreciate most? I've got her some Aiden and Anais muslins but that's it :/

Help! Aibu to call on Mumsnet so she doesn't get just a pack of sick cloths

Don’t get any 0-3 month baby clothes!

For Mum: Nice shower gel, dry shampoo, and due to breastfeeding loads of cake / posh ready meals

Everyone buys something for the baby, I always try and buy something for the mum: bath set, anything to remind them to take time for themselves.

Don’t get 0-3 or 3-6 months clothes- I had too many that everyone had bought. Luckily I was able to swap them
in store for bigger sizes.

My twins have just turned 11. We got so many lovely gifts, mostly clothes and practical stuff but one gift made us laugh. A male friend from my student days - makes adverts, achingly cool, model type girlfriends turned up with a giant box of macaroons from that fancy French shop and a box set of The Wire on his understanding that we would be staying in a lot for the time being. We loved it.

I wish someone had got me a picnic blanket.

KindergartenKop · 15/07/2018 15:19

Get baby clothes in size 6-9 months, but warmer ones because it'll be winter when the baby is big.

A comfort blanket or a gift card from amazon. Parents can buy what they need

Things i would like when ive had a baby are , a big ready made lasagne , nice choccies and someone to bring me cups of tea

A big freshly baked cake that wont go off so fast, a plain sponge with or without sugar icing. A mixture of high quality nuts, brazils and macadamis.
