To think when you have CCTV evidence of two thefts by the same person the police should come out.

We reported a theft at work on Monday, two separate incidents. Same perpetrator, we can identify them. We have reason to believe they may return.

Its now Friday and still no-one has come out.

I know police are overstretched but its several hundred pounds of cash and over a thousand pounds worth of goods.

Again, it’s not a massive deal in the grand scheme of incidents that the police have to deal with. Do remember that England just lost a game and violence increases when England lose. I guarantee that they have other things that are more pressing to deal with. What you describe sounds more like shoplifting than a violent burglary, which is why the police haven’t prioritised it.

If it’s a small business than the most senior person should be dealing with this, not you. They should probably hire legal advice and chase this through the civil court. Is the perpetrator an ex employee? If so, hire a solicitor.

The most senior person is my dad. My job is in admin/accounts/his assistant.
