To think I need .ore than a 9kg drum for a family of 5+

There are 5 of us in my family, but we'd like to have more kids. I want something that's going to get clothes really clean, and something that's big enough that I won't have to replace it if we have another baby or two in the next few years. I don't mind spending more at this stage, but really want it to last.

I'd been looking at the Samsung Ecobubble 12kg because it's huge. But some of the reviews on reliability are a bit hit and miss.

I was also looking at Miele as we have their vacuum cleaner and we love it, and it gets fantastic reviews on reliability. They only seem to go up to a 9kg drum, though.

Is this big enough for a family of potentially 7/8?

Thanks

Tbh I was totally sold on the miele, went down to Currys today to buy one and the guy there said that not a lot of people buy them and he can get me a washing machine with a longer warranty for half the price.

I was a but stumped because it had taken me a while to decide on the miele and I don't want to buy something that isn't actually very good at cleaning clothes, or that mangles them horribly. So I left to do more research Confused

I have a 12kg steam LG. It's the which best buy and I love it. Have two tumble dryers so can dry the full load at once.

Oooh really Gobbolinothewitchscat how much was it, can I ask?

I don’t know anything about Curry’s and I don’t want to question the man’s professionalism but I have to wonder about his commission!

It is 2 years old. It hasn't spun anything big since day 1.

I think it was about 1k. But we have always had LGs. I really rate them - do about 3 loads a day and can easily wash super king quilts etc if sickness bug

We have an 9kg LG steam and I hate it. It doesn't clean the clothes well and be cycles take an age.

I wouldn't trust Curry's to tell me anything beyond the time of day!
I mostly use the 1 hour 1400rpm spin cycle on my Bosch, so clothes take much less time to dry. The delay start option and countdown display are invaluable - I open set laundry up late at night then hang it up in the morning.
I've heard rumours that Miele aren't that much better than AEG/Bosch - if it costs twice as much you want them to last twice as long, and apparently they don't.

The 9kg steam has terrible reviews on which for some reason. The 12 is the best buy

I would subscribe to which and look at online reviews too. We have a bosch tumble dryer which is a total lemon. Wish I had subscribed bwfore I bought it as all the issues were in the which review. I just assumed bosch would be good - foolishly. Most makes seem to have one appliance model that is not as good as the rest from what I have seen.

I was considering a 12kg hoover as it was cheaper but the reviews were awful and we had a hoover tumble dryer which was also pants.
