Neighbour is a CF parker but I can't say a word

We live in an apartment. A selection of apartments have allocated parking with apartment numbers on under the building with the remaining ones allocated outside. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this - it's not like all of the top floors are underneath - It's all higgeldy piggedly. As far as I'm aware, they are actually connected to ownership of the apartments too. We own ours and the parking space is in our deeds.

There are also a number of visitor parking bays that residents, including ourselves, use for second cars. Rarely are all the VP bays full so there is ample room for us all.

Neighbour (lets call them Neighbour 1) who lives opposite me has a parking space designated outside. It's on the corner where you would enter the undercroft parking, so not particularly desireable IMO. Neighbour 1 does not live in the apartment fulltime - he travels down for when approx once or twice a week. Nice guy. Friendly neighbour.

Other Neighbour (lets call them Neighbour 2) has 2 cars and lives on the same floor as me and Neighbour 1. They have been known in the 9 years we have owned our place to park in other people's parking spaces as soon as they know an apartment is empty, instead of parking in the VP bays. Literally, as soon as a neighbour has moved out, they will park in that apartment's bay.

Neighbour 2 has taken to parking in Neighbour 1's parking space. And I just think it's down right CF to do this. It's not their bay and he may or may not turn up to stay. I have seen his car this week so know he is definitely still staying there.

GRRRR! And I can't say a word because it's not my business!!!!!!!

Yes he's cheeky but yes its not your business. If neighbour 1 cant park and has a problem he needs to speak to neighbour 2. I wouldn't waste head space over this.

Have you been curtain twitching OP? Why are you so interested in this total non event?

LeahJack · 12/07/2018 15:19

It’s absolutely none of your business. For all you know he’s let it to them. Sounds like you need a hobby!

cjt110 · 12/07/2018 15:22

Nah, I just notice because I drive out and past it and think it's cheeky.

I think the real CFs are the people who use the visitors’ bays when they live there. The clue is in the name.

Bibesia · 12/07/2018 15:43

I guess you could say something to Neighbour 1 along the lines of "That's nice of you to let Neighbour 2 use your space" or "Is Neighbour 2 paying for the use of your space, then?"

cjt110 · 12/07/2018 15:48

I think the real CFs are the people who use the visitors’ bays when they live there. The clue is in the name. It's one thing to do this but to actually park in someone's privately owned bay....

I just don't understand the mentality of "Oh their bay is free, I'll park in that" I wouldn't ever dream of doing that when I know someone lives and owns that spot.... It's just bizzare

When we lived in an apartment some cf told his dsis she could park in our paid for owned space. It was a Sunday and I had just popped out to the supermarket.

I had to park outside. I told the parking control people who did nothing. I was lucky not to get a parking ticket.

I did catch the cf man and his dsis who didn’t even apologise. IMO apartment living/parking brings out the worse in people.

Literally not your business
