AIBU to not wash my hair for a few days?

So usually I wash my hair every other day. I always have a wash in the morning and a shower at night with a hair cap if not washing my hair. I always tie my hair back during the day. AIBU to not wash my hair up to 5 days depending on greasiness?

When I have my bright and funky designs painted in, I never wash my hair — to avoid fading the colour. It remains unwashed for two or three months and then it gets cut out, I go back to brown and dream of the next design
