To ask for tips for Shropshire

We've been here over a year now and haven't really seen all that much of Shropshire at all.... moved from London so we really don't have a clue. Google obviously gives a lot of suggestions but I'd rather hear from someone who knows the area if that makes sense.

We've seen loads of Shrewsbury and not much else... we know Shropshire's massive and are happy to drive/train/bus wherever's nice. Both with and without kids (5 weeks old and 6/7). Anywhere nice for a night or two away? A family day out? Camping? Art-y stuff? Outdoorsy stuff? We're quite easy (although honestly not sure about camping with 5 week olds...). Or anywhere in Wales we haven't thought of basically anywhere other than Barmouth?

I want to make a big list and tick them off over the next few years. I lived in Provence as a child and thought it was the most awful place on earth as we never did anything to have fun/enjoy the beauty... don't want the same for my DC.

Any tips would be happily appreciated. We really want to feel like we've seen and know this beautiful county... but we really don't!

Church Stretton - Carding Mill Valley is lovely for a walk, picnic and paddle in the stream
Blists Hill
Ironbridge
Telford Town Park
Much Wenlock - very pretty little town, follow the Olympic Trail
Wenlock Edge
Craven Arms - Shropshire Hills Centre & Stokesay Castle
Attingham Park

Further afield:
Llangollen Railway
beaches at Borth, Aberdyfi, Tywyn

You could also take the train to Aberystwyth, go on the beach & Cliff Railway.

Iron bridge is nice and has Blists Hill (Victorian town) nearby.

Telford has a park that’s been done up and is good (has a soaker area if you go when it’s hot take towels!) there’s a decent set of food places right next to it too.
There’s Telford wonderland which has all fairytale cottages and characters, a maze, a couple of small rides etc.

Hoo farm- lots of animals and sometimes has events on (near wellington)

RAF Cosford (the train station is a 2 minutes walk if you don’t want to drive)

Attingham Park - lots of lovely walks

Hawkstone Park - not good for pushchairs

Kids fest is on in Telford and Shrewsbury each year which is quite good.

Telford ice rink / bowling alley (rainy day ideas)

Much wenlock is pretty but there’s not much to do once you’ve walked up the one road and looked around the ruins.

Ludlow- there’s the castle, a few nice shops and the market. They have a festival each year too.

Long mynd and carding mill valley are nice for walks.

Kinver Edge is nice for walking too but just out of Shropshire.

There’s a giant inflatable place open over the six weeks in Four Ashes ( near junction 2 of M54)

Weston Park has lovely grounds and a decent kids play area and a steam train ride.

Cannock Chase is a bit further but also has nice walks, a Gruffalo trail and go ape.
