After squint surgery. Any opticians about?

Dd had squint surgery 3 weeks ago. We went to her post op today. Everything went well. They achieved the result they wanted. Eyes are still a bit red but they said that's normal.
They said before the op that they would only improve the squint so they were straight when wearing her glasses as she is +3 farsighted so will always need glasses.
At the post op today they said they were slightly over corrected when the glasses were on. And to see the doctor as she may need a new prescription as her current prescription is too strong and pushing the eyes in the opposite direction they used to be.
When in with the doctor he said him and his colleagues agreed she should stop wearing the glasses. I understand why. As I've explained above. But what I'm confused about is he said she can see just as well without the glasses as she can with them. But she has a +3 prescription. He has given her a prescription for some new glasses but with only for her astigmatism which is very low. He said, she can wear them if she wants, or not. And he will see her again in two months.

Aibu to think she actually does still need glasses? I'm so confused.

Not an optician but had 3 rounds of squint surgery and went through it again with DD when they fix a squint they are adjusting the muscles that control the eye with a combination of repositioning of said muscles and tieing knots in them to change their length (rather than cutting them) as when you grow your face and muscles change shape slightly and can cause a recurrence. As a side effect of the procedure there is often an improvement in vision often small but sometimes vast I went from +2.5 to +0.25 and you only see my squint when I'm tired don't even have to bother with my glasses anymore DD not so lucky 😔

There's been no mention of repositioning the eye muscles. But I think they're waiting a but longer as it's still early days.
I just don't want her to start straining her eyes while at school and it making her eyes worse.

Just get her eyes tested?

They may not of mentioned it but if your DD has had the surgery this is exactly what they do but if you don't trust the Drs assessment of your DD vision get her eyes retested though odds are you'll need to pay for the test as the hospital have already done her eye test
