Recently moved house so it’s a budget month. Also I’m sure there are a lot in a similar position of wanting to keep the shopping cost decent.
Please share with me your favourite low cost meals Smile

Poor mans pot, its different every time. Sliced potatoes + onions, any left over veg (carrots/peas/broccoli/cauli/leek/mush work best but what ever you have even frozen peas and corn) , any left over meat ( we usually use bacon/ham/chicken) bit of garlic and pepper, layer all in a dish and cover with milk or cream if you have it, bit of cheese over the top. Oven on 180 for 45-60 mins.

Best bet is to cut alcohol, chocolate and meat, and shop in a cheaper supermarket. Check out Aldi or Lidl. Lots of great dinner suggestions above. For breakfast, oatmeal or homemade muesli (oats + whatever seeds and nuts you can afford), soak it the night before with yogurt and liquid (water, milk or juice) then add fruit in the morning (bananas are cheap and nutritious).

In terms of general budgeting, try keeping receipts for everything and looking at them at the end of the week. Or using cash to highlight how much is being spent.

Lamb heart casserole, if you do it in a slow cooker you don't even have to prepare the heart, just cut it up once cooked
