To ask why my baby won't stop crying?

She screams all day long I don't feel like I can cope any more the sound is cracking me up. She's 5 weeks old.
I have tried everything rocking, winding, constant cuddles, clothes on clothes off, infacol, breast milk, formula bottles I can't take the crying any more. DH is been fab but we have a toddler who's suffering because of it too what can I do? I have never known a baby cry like this im so lost and feel like I'm failing her.

I could have written this a few weeks ago. Even the dr commented on how tense she was at our 8 week check Blush

Then, like a wand had been waved over the cot by a good fairy, it wound down at 8-9 weeks. By 12 weeks and from then on, she’s been like a different baby. Really hope you have found or find it similar.

In the meantime, get her checked out as PPs have said, and get some help to maintain your sanity if you can - friends; relatives; a sitter just to be there as an extra pair of hands Flowers

I didn’t put that very well, sorry - tired!! My point was, sometimes tiny babies do just cry for no reason we can establish easily, and they grow out of it after the peak at 6-8 weeks. I hope you have the same, but getting her checked is wise, as it could be an allergy or reflux instead 🤞🏻

Mine was like this OP! It was so so so so hard, but it will get better. Mine is 6 now! He's still very chatty!and needs constant stimulation and to have his energy channelled (7 sports clubs per week and still has energy to burn!) But - he is amazing!!!! Super intelligent and witty, loving, funny, amazing kid!

Some kids are just wired this way! It will get easier and you'll have a fabulous 6 year old one day :)

(Im sure you've already tried it - but if you haven't tried the dummy yet - persevere in trying, dummies r very helpful and comforting to babies like this!)

My baby was exactly the same she screamed from birth until 3 months. Back and forward to the doctor. We done a poo sample and all sorts.
Mumsnet saved my sanity. After a bit of research on here I found out my baby had CMPA.

Went back to GP and told them I really believe baby had a milk intolerance. He believed me and agreed to try her on perscription forumula called nutramigen and she has been like a brand new baby since.

Push things with your GP. We went months believing it was colic so put coilef in every bottle as we were told to by GP. She also really struggled to poo bit whenever she did it wouldn't be hard it would be really watery and mucusy

Hope you get an answer soon x

Does she finish her bottles? How often does she have one? Have you tried colief?

Thankyou all for your help. Just wanted to update, I have a different baby. She has reflux it seems and she now has milk thickener and baby gaviscon and is a much happier baby. The replies on here helped greatly so a huge THANK you mumsnetters x

Great to hear she’s doing better Smile
Just keep a close eye out for constipation - gaviscon is notorious for backing babies up!! So that combined with thickeners like carobel can become a recipe for rock solid poo. If it does happen, your dr should offer and alternative reflux treatment Smile
