Would you go to a wedding by yourself?

We're 3 good friends, been friends since college, been on holiday together etc.
1 is getting married today, me and other friend RSVPd 'yes' and we're happy to be each other's date as wedding budget mean friend's partners aren't invited.

Friend's mum is very ill in hospital and she's text me this morning to say she can't go to the wedding.
I know I should go, the only people I know are her parents.

Oh Grin

Pretty fucking rude to decide on the morning of a wedding of a good friend that you don't want to go cos you'd be on your own. Especially as wedding is on a budget.

How to end a friendship.

Bit rude. I didn't leave it until the last minute, me and the friend that wasn't getting married had planned the whole day, she was coming to mine in the morning, getting ready together and then staying in a hotel together that evening. She cancelled that morning or for very good reason and because of the sudden change I had a little panic!
I did go on my own and it was fine, thanks for the majority of responses you made me realise that not going wasn't an option! I had a good time and because I didn't drink I didn't have a hangover this morning :) .

Great you had a good time

I've gone to weddings alone. It's fine. If you are bored or lonely you can always leave. Hope your friend's mum gets better soon.

Yes, went to plenty of weddings on my own - had no partner at the time/
