To buy an air conditioning unit?

I don't think I've slept well for 2 weeks. Fan in the bedroom just moves hot air around. I've even tried the 'ice in front of the fan' technique with little success.
Our local Homebase has air con units in stock, £250 Every year when the weather gets warm DH and I have the discussion and don't end up buying one but this time it looks like this weather is here for a while.

AIBU to buy the bloody unit and languish in my (cool) bedroom?

Go for it. We got one when DS was a baby a few years ago. Then bought a second when we moved to his own room. We use them every year and always so smug relieved to have them. I'm currently third trimester pregnant and would be struggling a lot more without it i'm sure.

Ninoo that’s what he’s trying to convince me of, although having just totally renovated the house and spent quite a bit on fancy heating system I fail to see why we would need it to heat! I keep hearing ‘it uses about as much power as a kettle....’ from him.

If I had the space for one in my tiny 1 bed flat then I would have had one years ago.

I've just bought the JML attic air cooler from ASDA £39.99..,works a treat got it on landing with all bedroom doors open it is lovely 😊 absolute great buy for the price...lasts up to 8 hours which ant that bad really!...pour water in and job done..👍
