Right I know this is the wrong section but I need a quick reply as I'm in agony.

I'm 26 and have got chickenpox. DS had it last week.

They are all in my throat and my head is pounding. DH is at work so can't get him to get painkillers.

The only ones I have are soluble co-codamol or calpol Confused Does anyone know if co-codamol are safe to use with chickenpox?

Hi OP just wanted to ask if you are feeling any better?

My poor husband got chicken pox last Summer with our 2 year old! Copious amounts of ice lollies to help your throat!! Hope you feel better soon it was awful for him. Also, he became very tearful and "blue" for a week or so with it which is common with adult chicken pox I believe Flowers

@Currywurstmitpommes thank you, my throat has eased a little which is a relief but my shoulder and back are absolutely killing me. I'm guessing that's from laying around all day. Have been trying to eat but not able to as feeling very sick. X

@MamaBearThius I can definitely see where the feeling blue comes from. It's absolutely horrid being stuck indoors, spots everywhere and absolutely no energy to do even the smallest of tasks. How long did the pox last for your DH before he was back to normal? X

I had it when I was 17, it's awful. Way worse in adults. Cool baths and calamine lotion was all I used (in January as well, I was freezing).
Hope you're better soon

DD 2yrs has chickpox at the moment - we are starting to enter the scabby stage at last. Awful - just everywhere - in her ears, scalp, eyelids, mouth. Poxclin has been good simply for use over large surface areas and doesn't leave the chalky marks on everything like calamine. Fortunately both DH and I have had them as children - BUT we were staying with the PIL the week before they erupted when she would have been contagious and FIL has never had them....so we are still waiting to see if he is going to come down with them too. He is a massive MASSIVE drama-llama too so if he does get them we will never hear the end of it!

He had a week of pain and then 2 more weeks of discomfort and the blues! Horrible pox, really feel for you! Feel better soon Flowers
