To wonder if I could be pg

Technically not an AIBU but scared and looking for some support. NC for this.

I am on the pill (gedarel) and haven’t been the best at taking it on time this month.

I forgot the last pill of the last pack and first pill of the next but took two when I started the next pack. I’ve had to double up a couple of times this month and flat out forgot to take 2. Have had otherwise unprotected sex throughout the month.

A couple of days ago I had some odd twinges on my lower right side and a spot of pink blood, and I’ve had more pink spotting today. Had some lower back and tail bone pain too, which is unusual for me. Yesterday cervix was quite low and now it’s almost out of reach.

If I wasn’t on the pill I’d be roughly 8dpo right now on an average cycle.

There are several big reasons why I don’t want to be pregnant right now, but I don’t want to get into it

Based on these circumstances, is it possible I could be pg? I don’t want to worry myself unnecessarily, but I also don’t want to bury my head in the sand.

I think if you’re 12 dpo something would’ve shown on the test.(if its one of those Early PT ones) However I would wait a couple of more days and re-test.

Oh and set a reminder on your phone to take your Pill everyday.

@ispeakjive My mum didn’t test positive with me until she was a week overdue her period so I’m just trying to go by the rule of period.

I’ve decided I don’t want to convince myself either way. If it shows then I know for sure! I don’t want to make myself believe I’m not as if I do turn out pg I think it’ll be harder to deal with. Of course if I am not, hopefully, then there’s no problem!

@Ispeakjive I was out at the time and forgot to bring them, meant to take it when I got home and forgot that too. New medication has messed with my memory a bit

Was it a first response test that you took? If not then it prob would still show up negative. Go out and get a first response if you haven't! Oh and when I used to have my pill free week my period took about 3/4 days to come on...so you might not be late just yet..

Yes you could be potentially, i work in contraception missing two pills on consecutive days is an indication for emergency contraception especially if it's the first one of a new pack so yes do a test if its negative run your next pack on without a break (make sure you do a preg test 21 days from last sex to be sure) as youve been on a pill there is no way of knowing if you have ovulated or not, the missed pills and drop in hormone could stimulate an ovulation but there is no way of knowing if you have ovulated or not x

When you say dpo are you basing that on a standard 28 day cycle? Because if you’ve missed pills you won’t be ovulating mid cycle. You’re more likely to have ovulated a few days after the missed pill.

If the spotting and pain is implantation (and I’m not saying it is, it could be hormone related) then you probably won’t get a reliable pregnancy test result until 5-7 days after that.

Are you using another form of contraception at the moment? You said you’re on the pill free week but if you missed a pill on the last week of your last pack you’ll still need extra precautions.
