To ask about reporting on Facebook

I'm friends with someone on Facebook for work reasons. I need to stay friends so that I can keep working basically.

They have posted in that past some quite racist comments that I have been really unhappy with, and would have unfriended if I could.

Now there is a post that includes a picture of a member of the public in a vulnerable state. If I report this post to Facebook, will they be told who reported it? TIA

Well its likely to have been put on by mistake so just report it to the group admin. Say that you think its been put on in error!

callmeadoctor · 06/07/2018 22:06

Why would they take offence if they hadn't realised?

shoelaces · 07/07/2018 19:34

Callme would you not be offended if you were laid in bed, spark out after surgery, by yourself and with your nightie up to your hips and knickers peaking through? And this lady looked in her late 60's early 70's. Age shouldn't come in to it, but it seems even worse to me that she's elderly and alone.

I've been in hospital many times, I can't remember ever feeling good or happy while there, let alone happy to be photographed and plastered all over social media where my neighbours can see.

Hmmmm report it to the hospital itself? Print off screen shot include the zoom ins so you can see the name etc make sure your details are not on there and report via snail mail

glintandglide · 07/07/2018 19:40

I think
You’ve misunderstood callme’s post Op. in fact, tbh, you seem quite determined to make a drama out of this rather than do the obvious thing and tell the person who posted it

knowledgeofnone · 07/07/2018 19:53

I've reported quite a few things on fb and everyone of them has been removed, one time I went to report something and it wouldn't let me because it had already been reported and they had removed it but it was still showing on my app, took about 20 min for it to properly go away so maybe this has happened with you.

Can you report to the group admin with ‘not sure if they realised that you can see the identity of the lady in the pic’. Slightly less inflammatory.

callmeadoctor · 07/07/2018 22:36

Sorry Op I meant that the person that put the photo on possibly hasn't realised that there is a person obviously in view, and they wouldn't be offended if you pointed that out to them, they would be mortified I'm sure and grateful that you had pointed it out.
